Members are either children of MBYC members or youth who have already joined as MBYC Junior members.Students must be members to participate in sailing school and the extra $20 non-member fee covers the MBYC Junior membership for the current year.

Our Coaches are Fully Certified CANSail Coaches.
Safety is of the utmost importance. Your child must be able and willing to follow instructions in order to participate. Sailing is a water-based activity – be prepared for your child to get wet!

MBYC will be running various courses during different weeks. Every effort will be made to accommodate your child in a course of your choice subject to minimum and maximum numbers of enrollment for any given course during any given week.

An itinerary and list of supplies will be mailed out one week prior to your course.
Must have: Life jacket and/or PVD. Make sure the device is Canadian approved. Find an appropriately sized device and have them try it on. It should fit snugly, not ride up over your child’s chin or ears. If there are more than 7.6 cm (3”) between your child’s shoulders and the device it is too big and could do more harm than good.

Note: Students who already possess some level of experience but no previous CYA certification have the option of challenging the CYA levels on the first day of class. If you would like to challenge a higher level, you must state your intention on registration and ensure that your desired level is offered at that time. Assessment will be completed on the first day of class.
