Instructor Development Clinic

Sunday June 27th and Monday June 28th, 9:00am – 4:00pm

We will be hosting an instructor development clinic at MBYC prior to the start of the sailing school this year. This is for instructors to continue to improve and develop their coaching skills. Karl Jensen a BC Sailing coach will be facilitating this course. There is no cost and it is open to all Juniors ages 15 and over. This is a great opportunity for Juniors who are interested in coaching to get experience and a better idea of what it is all about.

The following topics will be covered:

• The importance of lesson plans
• Skill progression/skill breakdown
• Group analysis of lesson presentations
• Safety on water
• Skill identification on water
• Proper rigging techniques
• Coach boat positioning
• Student feedback
